Forest City, NC Marketing and Events Coordinator - Courtney Ashley was guest of this WNCW Friday Feature Inteview of the Week, as she talked about many of the family friendly events being offered to citizens in and around Rutherford County, NC.  The interview, recorded on Sept. 13, 2019, took place the day before a new event called The Diverse City Festival that was celebrating and unifying cultures and heritages of all kinds.  Ashley also shared info about Sept. 28ths "Pimento Cheese Jubilee,"  held in Forest City, NC at Pavilion on Park Square also known as POPS.

It's almost Autumn and we all know what that means... it's time for the Carolina In The Fall Festival in Wilkesboro, NC! We're super excited for the 5th annual music and food fest that's hosted by our friends, the Kruger Brothers. It's happening this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20th - 21st. Many of our DJs will be emceeing at the downtown Wilkesboro event, including Program Director Joe Kendrick, along with Music Hosts Jasmin Melton, Renee Denton and Joe Greene! The lineup is fantastic. It's time for the Mountain Song Festival and folks are gearing up for another incredible music event at one of the most popular venues in western North Carolina, the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. The lineup, as usual, is phenomenal. The host band is a WNCW fave, The Steep Canyon Rangers. The Grammy Award winning group calls "The Land of Waterfalls" home - and, to the delight of music lovers, they play multiple times during the festival. Yes. The amazing, full lineup for the three day event looks like this:

Since the day it was announced, western North Carolinians and music lovers nationwide have been anxiously awaiting the kick off of the innaugural Strings & Suds Festival, as have WNCW friends, fans and staff members. Now, the wait is over - the festivities begin on Friday, August 23 at 7pm at The Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Yes please.

We had an incredible day celebrating Woodstock last week! Thanks for all of the support and kind words. We received phone calls and pledges from WNCW fans hailing from all over the country...  even Central America! Thank you. Thank you. It was such a good day we decided to post the full interviews Martin Anderson recorded with friends of the station who were actually at Woodstock. Parts of the sessions aired on Woodstock Day.
