Governor Roy Cooper announced on Monday, April 20, that North Carolina has been approved for the new Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program, to help families purchase food for children impacted by school closings due to COVID-19. 

Homeward Bound of WNC and Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville

Homeward Bound of WNC ends homelessness by moving people into permanent housing, and providing the support they need. The organization's staff say 89% of the people moved into housing are still housed. It receives public and private funding to do the work.
