This Old Porch is a show of traditional and regional mountain music, songs and ballads, contemporary old time, dance tunes and more. Folklorist John Fowler and award winning musician Carol Rifkin host this show that keeps the music of the mountains alive.

Locally Produced Shows Receive New T-shirts

We are excited to offer all new t-shirts for many of our locally produced programs.  The t-shirts were put together and printed by Recover Brands on Recover t-shirts.  We have limited quantities of these special shirts, so please call 1-800-245-8870 to pledge for your t-shirt.  They will be available through the end of the Spring Fund Drive, which ends April 1 at 7:00pm.

Josh Carter of Pretty Little Goat (and possibly some other members) will join Carol Rifkin on "This Old Porch this Sunday just after 3:00pm to play and talk to promote their upcoming show.

On 4 p.m. March 13, 2016 Pretty Little Goat will join Carol Rifkin in the WNCW on-air studio for a special “This Old Porch Live” interview and tunes.  They will discuss the debut of their CD Pretty Little Goat and upcoming CD release party March 18 at The Grey Eagle in Asheville. A twenty-something group based in Brevard, their smiling, rhythmic feel and presence is fresh, instrumentally together and feeling the love. Pretty Little Goat is Tim Fisher on fiddle, J. T.
