The trio of Isa Burke, Eleanor Buckland, and Mali Obomsawin is rooted in folk traditions honed together in Maine, and at Boston's Berklee School of Music before that. Their online bio sums up their mission as perpetating "the people’s practice of sharing their communities’ struggles through songs. The band exists in the tense space where tradition and revolution meet, from which their harmonies rise into the air to create new American music." They play The Grey Eagle in Asheville on Wednesday, then Bristol, VA on Thursday.
