He will always be associated with his glory days with Dire Straits, but Mark Knopfler has enjoyed charting his own course with seven solo albums these past almost 20 years. His eighth is more Americana/folk than the rock side of those Dire Straits days, but it's also more eclectic than ever: you'll hear influences as far ranging as Irish, jazz, and however you describe that trademark sound of J.J.
