Rebecca Tunes Into WNCW Because...

Testimonial Logo

My husband and I started listening to WNCW while channel surfing in the upstate of South Carolina. We love the bluegrass music and have stayed listening for the other styles of music. Even though we live in Columbia, South Carolina, we always tune in to WNCW as soon as we can on I-26. We've even found that we can get the station all the way to Newberry, South Carolina.

We wish we had a station like this in Columbia, but it makes our trips to the mountains special.

Fred Found WNCW While Radio Surfing And Continues To Tune In Online

Public Radio that brings you... genres

Discovering WNCW on my radio dial was the best "find" I had made in years.

While traveling to Western North Carolina from New England on business, I was surfing the stations looking for something to listen to, other than my well worn and over listened to CD's. WNCW Spindale exploded out from my dashboard with the best in Saturday afternoon Bluegrass "favorites" and from that point the adventure began. This is going back to what must have been the beginning years, as I am only able to date it to some 20 plus years ago.

Michael Tunes Into WNCW Because...

Public Radio that brings you... genres

I have listened to WNCW for about as long as it's been on the air. I had listened to the lower end of the dial due to not really liking radio "personalities", their corny rambling and lack of musical knowledge. Once I found WNCW, it has not been changed on my truck radio. I do admit listening to WWOZ out of New Orleans online frequently when I first come home from work, but given the choice, WNCW is by far the best. Thank You.

Living And Working To The Music and News On WNCW

Public Radio that brings you... genres

As a loyal member for many years, I listen all day at work and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

In 1989 my husband climbed on top of our two story bike shop building to put up an antenna just to hear WNCW all day.  We also raised 3 kids on WNCW.  Two live in West Asheville, one is a musician in Florida, and all three have great taste in music.

How BJ Leiderman First Tuned Into WNCW...And Why He Is Still Listening

BJ Leiderman loves this station

I was traveling to Asheville to visit my old summer camp in Hendersonville. I was tuning through the FM dial when I stopped at a song that blew my mind and that I thought sounded very Beatlesque.

When I heard your station break I was stunned I was getting an Asheville station, as I had just recently crossed over the Virginia-North Carolina line. Turns out I was getting the feed from one of your repeater antennas! Very cool!
