Put on your dancin' shoes and join WNCW's Spencer Jones and Vicki Dameron this Friday night at 10pm after Frank on Friday.  Here's the scoop: Jones had a really cool idea to bring in the "behind the scenes" WNCW staff members and let them have a shot at being guest hosts. Vicki "Vixter" Dameron is the first brave soul to venture out into this fantastic endeavor and the end product... this week's Friday Night Music Mix, will surely make you smile. Promise. Jones is an upbeat person who likes upbeat music and so does Dameron, a former DJ from the early days of WNCW.

Banjo pickers and Bela fans, tune in! Bela Fleck shares his latest announcement (well, two, actually): he's heading up an intensive camp at the Brevard Music Center this August called the Blue Ridge Banjo Camp with Tony Trischka, Kristin Scott Benson, & others. They are currently taking applications, including 2-3 minute videos to show your level, through the end of February. Bela talks via telephone with Martin about this and more.

Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck

We enjoyed welcoming Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn to the On Air Studio during Goin' Across the Mountain on October 14.  Listen to the replay of their interview and music.

What an honor to have these two banjo greats return to WNCW. Join us as we welcome Bela and Abigail at the start of Goin' Across the Mountain, on their way to Shelby for a show Saturday evening at the Don Gibson Theatre. Béla's current Grammy count is 15 Grammys won, and 30 nominations. He has been nominated in more different musical categories than anyone in Grammy history.
