NWG New Window Gallery Presenting: Artist: Byron Jones Paintings Window Exhibit About the artist: Byron Jones will be showing his work at New Window Gallery. Some of his pieces are abstract, and some are "portraits" of well-known musicians, done in pencil, pen- and- ink, or acrylics. Byron was born in Durham, NC, and became interested in drawing at about the age of *ve. He and his family moved to Lenoir, NC in 2003. His art education began in high school, and after graduation he attended St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC, in 1977. From St. Andrews, he continued to UNC Wilmington from 1979-1983, where he earned a BA in Creative Arts, with a focus on drawing and printmaking. From 1983-1985 he attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., then studied at E. Carolina University, earning his teaching certi*cate. His *rst teaching job was in Goldsboro, NC, where he taught from 1987-1997. Byron currently teaches art at Northview Middle School in Hickory, NC. New Window Gallery is located at 150 W Main St. Valdese NC. It is part of the Play It Again Records Building. The two large gallery windows are lit 24 hrs. a day and can be seen from the curb!
