Support WNCW: Frequently Asked Questions |
|
|
what does isothermal mean? In meteorological terms, the
word "isotherm" refers to a line drawn on a weather map showing
identical or even temperatures. If something is isothermal, it is of equal
or constant temperature with respect to either time or space. Also known as a thermal belt, this weather
condition is created along mountainsides, in the foothills, where frost or
freezing temperatures are less likely to occur compared to temperatures at
higher or lower elevations.
Research has
shown that Rutherford and Polk Counties where WNCW and Isothermal Community
College are located has thermal belts.
When choosing a name for Isothermal Community College, the
original Board of Trustees drew from this regional characteristic to create a
name that described the area and represented the college. |

I pledged and haven't received my thank you gift yet, what should I do? Sometimes it takes us a while to process memberships depending on the number of pledges we're processing. If it has been more than two months since you made your pledge and you have still not received your gift, contact Stephanie Webb at 828-287-8000 ext. 357 or e-mail info@wncw.org. back to top
I have moved, who should I contact to change my address? You can e-mail your change of address to info@wncw.org or call Stephanie Webb at 828-287-8000 ext. 357. Please be sure to include your old address in addition to your new address so we're confident that the correct member's information is being modified. Please also include telephone number changes. back to top
Can I specify what programming I want my membership to support? No, all member contributions are put in a general fund to support ALL programming on WNCW. back to top
How long does my membership last? Your membership lasts one year from the date of your gift. If you give another gift before that year is finished, your contribution will be listed as an additional gift unless you specify it as a renewal. back to top
My member card has been lost, stolen or destroyed, how do I get a replacement? E-mail info@wncw.org or call Stephanie Webb at 828-287-8000 ext. 357. Be sure to provide your address and phone number in the e-mail so that we provide the right member with a replacement card. You must be a current member to request a replacement member card. back to top
What is considered an additional gift? Any contribution given after your annual membership donation is considered an additional gift. If you would like a mid-year contribution to be allocated as a renewal, you must designate that when you make that payment. back to top
What is the matching fund? During limited, specified hours of the pledge drives contributions we receive on air will be matched by gifts raised off air and allocated to the matching fund voluntarily by our donors. If you allow us to include your contribution in our matching fund, all of your personal information including the amount of your gift will remain confidential. When we receive your gift along with your permission to include it in our matching gift fund, we will hold it in a matching gift account and use it only upon meeting the goals we announce on air when gifts are being matched. back to top
How do I participate in the matching fund? Check the box on the reply card enclosed in the letter recently mailed to you to add your contribution to WNCW's matching fund for the fundraiser. As one of the best ways to encourage other listeners to join you in supporting WNCW, your gift would be pooled with others to match pledges during the on-air fundraiser. The matching money helps WNCW to raise significant funds in a short time so you can hear as much music as possible. back to top
My credit card number has been cancelled or changed, how do I continue paying the installments on my pledge? Contact Stephanie Webb at 828-287-8000 ext. 357 to provide a new credit card number or to pay the balance of your pledge by check. back to top
