Studio B is where the music happens. It is the state-of-the-art recording facility here at WNCW that hosts regional and national artists; WNCW broadcasts their performances live along with interviews on just about any given day. Memorable tracks captured in Studio B usually find their way in to WNCW's self-produced CDs called Crowd Around the Mic.

How do I get my band or myself scheduled for a live interview in Studio B? You must have a CD that is commercially available to our listeners. Then please contact Martin Anderson, or for Local Color acts, Kim Clark, about the possibility of playing in Studio B. Are recordings of interviews available? Only those podcasts or YouTube videos we have posted on our website.
Can I come in to watch a Studio B performance? No. Due to space limitations, and in consideration of the artists' comfort, observers are not permitted in Studio B during live interview recordings. Is Studio B available for booking and recording bands? No. Studio B is used exclusively to host artists for interviews and performances for broadcast on WNCW 88.7.

Back to Top Q.: Do I need a promoter or manager in order to get airplay? A.: You do not need one in order to be considered for airplay at WNCW. However, having one is beneficial for exposure to many other stations across the country.
Back to Top Q: Is an album one-sheet vital for airplay? A: It's not absolutely essential. If you have a webpage with all of the info you want to share, you can just include your web address if it isn't already on your CD. Nevertheless, a simple one-sheet listing such info as your primary artist and/or genre influences, any notable artists/producers on your recording, and when your CD will be available to the public might be helpful. And again, a note listing upcoming shows in our area is recommended.
Back to Top Q: What should I do to follow up after sending you my CD? A: Not much, really! Due to the volume of music we receive, we cannot guarantee receipt or airplay of your music. Feel free to email the Music Director if you're curious about the status, but please don't be alarmed or discouraged if you don't hear back from us. And if it turns out we aren't able to provide airplay, don't be discouraged from sending your next CD!

Q: Should I encourage my fans to request my music? A.: No. We can usually recognize an organized request campaign vs. more genuine individual requests, and do not recommend this.
