WNCW's Music Mix with Martin Anderson
Monday – Friday, 9 am – Noon

Martin Anderson starts off WNCW's Music Mix by concentrating on the acoustic side, blending Americana, singer/songwriters, bluegrass, folk, jazz, blues, Celtic music...even the acoustic side of rock...and taking you to the crossroads, the intersection of music styles you won’t hear anywhere else on the radio. With hourly headlines from NPR News, WNCW's own What It Is, live performances and many other morning features you've come to expect, Martin will accompany you from that second cup of coffee to lunchtime.

Martin Anderson

Martin is the Music Director and mid-day host at WNCW. When not on the air here, he might be getting to know an act headed to Studio B, talking with musicians, label reps, or others with brand new recordings we might like, or pouring through the 100 or so CDs that arrive in the mail weekly.  Martin grew up in Maryland and went to the University of Delaware , but says his ten most formative years were spent in Eugene , Oregon and Arcata, Northern California , working with everything from public radio to natural foods, wild mushrooms, and various progressive politics issues. He got his radio start as an overnight eclectic music host at the University of Delaware 's WXDR/WVUD, before volunteering for folk, bluegrass, celtic, and other shows at KLCC and KRVM in Eugene and KHSU in Arcata. After learning about Asheville 's great acoustic music scene and discovering WNCW's online webstream, he moved here in November of 2001 to be WNCW's morning host. He now lives in beautiful Saluda , NC , where a few of his favorite things are his family, dogs, hiking, traveling, great food, or some combination thereof.  Email Martin at martin@wncw.org.
