Dennis started as a volunteer at this station, answering phones and working in the music library during Goin’ Across The Mountain. Before long WNCW hired him to apply his talents as an audio engineer to Studio B where he began recording most of the live interviews and providing production, engineering and mixing skills to the CDs that come out of live performances at WNCW – Crowd Around the Mic, and more recently, Goin’ Across The Mountain, Live Volume 1. He first filled in as a Host of Goin’ Across The Mountain in 1995; then became a Co-Host in 2001. He became host of The Gospel Truth in the fall of 1996, and he says he considers it his greatest and grandest privilege here at WNCW. Dennis is a professional Broadcast member of The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA). In 2003, Dennis took the role of technical director for the station, overseeing engineering at the studios in Spindale and at the transmitter/translator sites. Dennis has been nominated for Bluegrass DJ of the year IBMA in 2002 and by SPBGMA in 2004 and 2005. Dennis is proud that WNCW has been nominated for Bluegrass Radio Station of the year by SPBGMA in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Dennis is from Cliffside NC where he owns a recording/mixing/mastering company that specializing in acoustic music for CD/DVD/DVD. Email Dennis at dennis@wncw.org. | |
